A new mining school is coming to Timmins. Northern College’s Haileybury School of Mines and Kidd Operations have joined forces to create the Northern School of Hard Rock Mining. The program will be delivered at the 2,400 training level of the Kidd Mine in Timmins. The program is 12 weeks, and students will get hands on experience in the field, learning from operational crews and following production schedules. Those who take the program will also get post secondary credits that can be used towards other programs at the school.
