James Bay’s new OPP Detachment Commander, Mike Pilon says he’s hoping to get more involved in the community, specifically with youth. Pilon has taken the reins over for the James Bay OPP, with reach from Moosonee to Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane and Kapuskasing.

Pilon says one way the OPP can be more involved is to increase visibility in schools in a learning capacity. He says there is a movement towards re-engaging with the youth in the community, calling it an area where the OPP has been lacking. Pilon also points out one way to get in involved is the Auxiliary Unit which attracts young hopefuls and people who want to be more involved in their community.
