Making wishes come true by climbing Kilimanjaro

Two members of Timmins Police Pipes and Drums are trying to raise money for the adventure of a lifetime.

Liseanne McDonald and Jennifer Proux are heading to Africa in the Fall to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. This is all in an effort to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation in memory of McDonald’s nephew who died of a brain tumour at age seven.

The two hope to raise $8000 with all funds going directly to pay for children’s wishes. They add that the money will stay in Northern Ontario helping kids here.

St. Patrick’s Piano and Martini Night at The Fishbowl restaurant is an upcoming fundraiser on Saturday, March 22. Tickets are $50.

To donate, residents can see Jennifer Proux at CIBC Bank on Pine & 3rd, or email the climbers at [email protected] or [email protected].
