Theo Fleury speech to benefit Fort Albany First Nation

All of the money raised from Theo Fleury’s speech in Timmins is going to help kids at a First Nations school. This Friday’s event is being put on by the girl’s team, the Kiwanis Midget-A Falcons. Team Manager Marie Leonard says all of the proceeds won’t go into the team itself, but into a trip up to Fort Albany. They will bring food and gym equipment, like basketballs, volleyballs, and hula hoops. The team will be taking the ice road to the reserve next month.

This isn’t the first time the team has given back, as they made a trip to Attawapiskat last year to bring hockey gear and food. Tickets for the event at the Dante Club are still available at Dailey’s Independent Grocers, and Evans, Bragagnolo & Sullivan.
