Government aims for increased tourism with festival grants

Several Northern communities are receiving grants from the government for festivals they will host this year.

Kirkland Lake is getting $65,000 for their Homecoming festival. Kapuskasing and Hearst are getting $75,000 each and Iroquois Falls is receiving just over $37,000 for their Summer Rush Festival.

Through the Celebrate Ontario grants the government is hoping to increase tourism and economic activity.
