The Northeast OPP says residents who received UAVs, or more commonly called drones, for Christmas should be aware of aviation laws.
The OPP says a drone may not fly closer than 9 kilometres from an airport, higher than 90 meters, fly in populated areas or near roads and highways. Police say you can always call them to double check regulations or refer directly to the Canadian Aviation Regulations which can be found online.
