The North East OPP says it will be out in full force and reminds residents its Festive R.I.D.E. program will be in effect until January 2nd. Police say the increased visibility and strategy for the placement of check points has been a great deterrent with a lot of cooperation from drivers.
A failure to pass a sobriety test is an automatic 90-day suspension of your license, that’s not including criminal charges. Police say plan your New Year’s celebrations accordingly.
