OPP laying charges after drugs were stolen by a pharmacy employee

Cochrane OPP is laying possession and theft charges after around 16,000 narcotic pills were stolen from a drug store. They say a woman who worked there was stealing the drugs over a period of time. A 51-year-old woman is now facing four charges:

  • Theft contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) (46 counts);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the CC;
  • Trafficking in a schedule I substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and with
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the CDSA.
