OFSC says snowmobiling still isn’t safe, regardless of recent winter weather

Despite the recent winter weather, snowmobile trails are still not ready to be used. The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is saying they are working to get their trails ready, but the temperatures haven’t been consistently cold enough. There also isn’t enough of a snow base to protect riders and sleds from hidden obstacles or rough terrain. All of the trails in the Timmins, Cochrane, and Iroquois Falls area remain closed.

The current prediction is that the trails will not be open by the first week of January.
