The city is taking responsibility for some of the delays and issues after this week’s winter storm. Mayor Steve Black is sending out an apology to the city, saying there are areas they can improve. Some roads weren’t cleared because of contractor equipment breaking down, especially in the Melrose area, so city resources had to be sent out to those areas which created a delay.
However there were also issues because of people parking on the street, which the city says that was a big hindrance on removing snow. Black says he will work on the internal issues, but is asking for the city’s cooperation in respecting the overnight parking ban and dumping snow in acceptable areas. By-law officers will be out enforcing the parking ban.
