Hydro rates could affect the services at TADH

The Timmins hospital is bringing up some serious concerns about how a spike in Hydro rates may affect services. Board Chair Leon Laforest says they are seeing their rates more than $300,000 higher than they were in 2010. On top of that, the hospital is also reporting an additional $1.8-million spike in spending on things like wages, inflation, and costs required by the Ministry of Health. Laforest says if the province doesn’t kick in some money, the hospital is going to have to reconsider the range of services they provide to Timmins, Cochrane, and surrounding communities.
