Timmins has a freezing rain warning in effect, and it doesn’t show any signs of breaking until tomorrow morning. Environment Canada is calling for freezing rain mixed with ice pellets, and we could be getting as much as five to 10 centimetres by later this afternoon. The forecast is calling for freezing rain all day today, with more expected overnight tonight. By tomorrow morning we should only be seeing light snow.

Drivers are being asked to reconsider all non-essential travel until the conditions improve. All school buses for Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Gogama, and Ramore have been cancelled today. The MTO has updated road conditions on their website, click here for the site.
