The area is lagging behind the rest of the province overall, but made significant strides forward in the forestry sector. The mining sector is struggling on a global scale, which is going to put strain on the region’s economy. That’s all according to Timmins Chamber President Kurt Bigeau, who also says it’s heartening to see the forward movement in the forestry sector.
