ONTC and IBEW reach a deal, but maintenance workers in Cochrane still locked out

A five year agreement has been reached between Ontario Northland and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  IBEW represents the unionized employees who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the company’s signal system and electronic train scanning equipment along the rail line.

In a release, Steve Martin, the Senior General Chairman of System Council for IBEW says the agreement provides further job stability.  In lieu of the deal, maintenance workers in both Cochrane and North Bay remain locked out.
