NewsSports NOJHL and CMHA teaming up to tackle mental health issues in the hockey arena SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Wednesday, Dec. 9th, 2015 The NOJHL and the CMHA are launching a new program to combat mental health issues for 300 Junior-A players. The Canadian Mental Health Association is sending a mental health coach to all 12 teams in the league, including the Timmins Rock, to help players identify mental health issues and address suicide. They will also provide resources, referrals, and addiction support. NOJHL Commissioner Robert Mazzuca says mental health shouldn’t be a taboo topic around the rink, and this partnership will help to make the league a better and safer place for the players.
