Mushkegowuk is getting some provincial support

The Mushkegowuk Council is getting almost $200,000 from the Ontario government to start an educational program. The money will be over two years, and will go towards helping students learn about jobs in resource development.

The money is part of a bigger Memorandum of Understanding the council signed with the province. That will bring the two parties together to go over strategies in governance, resource benefit sharing, and economic development.

Mushkegowuk represents seven First Nations in the area, including Attawapiskat and Kashechewan.
