Trans Canada is sending the message that pipelines running through north eastern Ontario are safe. Regional spokesman Stefan Baranski says there is a lot of misinformation out there, and Trans Canada has to correct misleading claims.
He says opposing groups are sending out facts and figures that are outright wrong. Trans Canada is constantly trying to correct the record, and put the facts out on the table. He says pipelines are the safest and greenest way in terms of Greenhouse Gases to move oil across the country.
Baranski says Trans Canada deals with facts and the National Energy Board holds it accountable to those facts. The Energy East Pipeline is a proposal to move oil from Alberta to Eastern Canada, and the route goes through parts of north eastern Ontario.
