Someone has gone offside, trying to score some money in the name of the Timmins Rock.
An email has gone out on the letterhead of the Junior A hockey team… under the name of assistant GM Eric Paquette. It’s soliciting bids for food vendors at Rock games.
Team president Ted Gooch notes that McIntyre Catering has exclusive rights to food sales at the McIntyre Arena.
One food truck owner called Gooch with a couple questions.
“He was at the point of already filling out the form and about to send a $500 deposit,” Gooch reports. “So thankfully, we caught them in time.”
Gooch is putting out the word to be leery and not fall for this scam, adding if you get the email, file it under G for garbage and move on.
