The province is out of excuses for the Ring of Fire delays, according to Mantha

In theory, the MPP for Algoma Manitoulin says there’s no reason why the Ring of Fire can’t get started.  New Democrat Mike Mantha says that’s because we now have Liberal governments at both the provincial and national levels.   Despite this, Mantha is concerned the massive chromite project will remain stalled because it rarely came up during the federal election campaign.  Mantha says he’ll work with his federal NDP counterparts to ensure that the Ring of Fire is on the new Liberal government’s radar.

Before last month’s federal election, the Ontario Liberals constantly blamed the Harper Conservative government for delaying the Ring of Fire.  But Mantha says the provincial blame game should now end with the federal Liberals assuming power meaning the Wynne Liberals are out of excuses to delay the project.   Mantha says in the past, the Ontario Liberals have said they’re committed to the Ring of Fire and he adds the Premier now has a chance to put her money where her mouth is.
