Timmins has developed a road map to follow suggested cuts in the recently released core service review. All of the potential changes to services have been laid out on the table; showing timelines, departments, and how the city can save money on services. Mayor Steve Black says some of those decisions will be made by city staff, and some will fall on council’s shoulders.
On items that need to be changed, staff will prepare a report for council to consider. Some of the opportunities outlined by KPMG are eliminating grants to volunteer organizations, and changing council from a ward system to an at-large system.
