The Timmins Falcons have started play at a tournament in Detroit

The Kiwanis Midget A Falcons lost their first game of the Two Nations Cup in Detroit this morning, 4-3 in overtime to the Madison Capitals.

A team spokesperson says the Capitals are one of the best girls teams they have seen in a while. She says they are extremely skilled with amazing team play, and the Falcons got a point which they are happy about.

Game two for the girls is at 2:00pm today versus the Cambridge Roadrunners. The Two Nations Cup is a College Showcase tournament held annually in Detroit, with teams from all over the U.S. and Canada.

Goaltender Kayla Lauson-Burkholder played very well, stopping 39 shots.
