Cochrane’s library has made the short list for a provincial award

A northeastern library has made the short list for the Ontario Public Library Service Awards. The Cochrane Public Library is one of 15 libraries on the short list, for their after school program called The Next Chapter.

The program helps develop literacy and creativity skills in kids aged seven to 13. The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport says the program is innovative and is a fresh take on what a library stands for, life-long learning. The award is given out for libraries that have a positive impact on the community, and are committed to excellence.
