Today is federal Election Day. Polling stations across the Timmins-James Bay riding are open today from 9:30am until 9:30pm. Mayor Steve Black is encouraging everyone to get out and vote, saying to look at the issues that will affect our area.
He says to consider all of the political parties, and what their stances are in terms of mining, forestry, and small businesses. Black says to see which platforms support the nature of our economy in Timmins, and which are in the best interest of our country.
Make sure to check your voter’s information card for your polling station. Bring that and ID with you when you head to the polls. There will be a shuttle service for Schumacher residents to the Porcupine Ski Runners. The schedule is below, and regular bus fares will apply.
