The Liberal candidate for Timmins-James Bay has some plans to help create jobs in the north. Todd Lever says the development of First Nation communities is big economic driver. He will help encourage job creation with plans to invest in First Nations education and infrastructure. He says those sectors pave the way, literally, for future growth.
Lever says if elected, he will also focus on a national mining strategy. He says Ontario should be the most mining-friendly jurisdiction in the world. The Liberals are prepared to go into what they are calling a modest deficit, to put some money into future growth.
Lever says mining jobs are the best jobs in the Canadian economy. He says they pay the best, and have the most potential for spin-off dollars.
Running against Lever on Monday is New Democrat Charlie Angus, Conservative John Curley, and the Green Party’s Max Kennedy.
