There was an awesome display of brute strength on Cedar St. on Thursday, during the United Way’s inaugural Big Red Truck Pull.
Teams of eight to ten people representing several charities and organizations are pulling a 12-tonne fire truck 100 feet down the street, in a timed competition.
United Way regional manager Jennifer Gorman says it’s a fun activity that also raises money.
“Absolutely a fundraiser to help support all of our funded partners as well as our funded programs,” she says.
“The next program that we have is the Ready for School, where we’re taking children shopping for school on August 14th.”
