A budding Timmins entrepreneur is setting himself up for a business that will take him beyond a job for the summer.
Eleven-year-old Zak Brunet has won a Dragon’s Den type business pitch competition organized by the Métis Nation of Ontario, walking away with $3,000 to start his business. He says the first thing he’ll do is buy a 3D printer, which is the heart of his business.
“I can make dog tags, fidget spinners, almost anything that would be plastic,” he outlines. “And it has a special app called Bamboo Labs, where I can see other creators and I can learn and that’s how I’m going to learn.”
He’s already arrived a name for the business: Printy McPrintface.
Zak’s going to publicize his business by word of mouth and through social media.
“I just told my friends and it was on the announcements at my school and I’m also going to go on Facebook Marketplace.”
Zak says he’ll keep the 3D printing business going as long as he can and will pay his way through university to be a lawyer.
