If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re about to experience paving being done on city streets.
Council has approved a three-year, $5-million contract for “shaving and paving”.
Growth and infrastructure director Scott Tam hopes 12 to 14 km of roads are resurfaced.
He says the list is being revamped with additions being made.
“So there is some areas that we want to do, on Legion Dr. for example,” he points out. “So stay tuned. We’re going to try to kind of capture as much as we can this year and then if not this year, then next year for sure and the year following.”
Tam cautions drivers to be prepared for traffic disruptions.
“With the shave and pave, at least there will be some areas just groud up and be on a base coat for a bit until we can get to paving. It will be slow throughways but yes, again, be patient again as we work our way across the city and doing certain areas.”
Another area he mentions in particular from the list is Algonquin Blvd., alongside Hollinger Park.
