A new name, but still the same fun with a good cause

A fun-filled day supporting the Seizure and Brain Injury Centre is back this year, and it is undergoing a slight name change from “Colour Run”.

“We don’t call it a run anymore. We don’t want people to think they have to run around Gillies Lake,” says executive Brittany Roberge.

It’s  now called “Colour It Up”. It happens on Saturday, June 14th at Gillies Lake.

When you pay your registration fee, you get a white T-shirt, sunglasses and a colour pack. As you make your way around the lake, sponsors throw more colour powder at you.

“So by the time you get back to us for a free barbecue and DJ and all of these things, everyone looks like a rainbow and it’s really, really, really fun,” Roberge adds.

It’s the centre’s biggest event of the year, raising money to fund its programs. As you make your way around the lake, sponsors let go with colour powder.

“For the registration price, you’re getting a T-shirt, sunglasses, you’re getting everything that day is free once you get there,” says Roberge. “It’s well worth it and it really does mean a lot to us at the centre.”

You can register that morning or online.
