Sports and teamwork made up the theme Thursday night for the 23rd annual Timmins Chamber of Commerce Nova business awards. Fittingly, the event was at the McIntyre Arena.
The most prestigious of the 16 categories is the President’s Award. It went to Daystar Stitching, a business that deals in imprinted and embroidered clothing and promotional products.
Chamber president Tom Faught Jr. said Daystar stands out in all requirements to be nominated, including community contributions and innovation.
“But their real legacy is their unwavering commitment to customer service, to quality and to the community,” Faught remarked. “They’ve helped make hockey dreams possible for local youth, sponsored teams, supported our local charities and extended a hand to remote communities that might otherwise be left out of the game.”
