News Kashechewan evacuees and Boreal building cabins in Moonbeam SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Sep. 29th, 2015 Evacuees from Kashechewan are helping College Boreal build cabins at Rene Brunelle Park near Moonbeam. Ten people from the First Nations community are going to learn math, health and safety, and carpentry training to build the cabins. The province says the goal of the project is to bring more visitors to Moonbeam and boost park revenue. In 2012 the province closed 10 provincial parks due to budget cuts. Last week, the province announced it will keep its commitment to provincial parks right through to 2019. Ontario Parks says the project is a collaboration between College Boreal, the town of Moonbeam, the Hishkoonikun Education Authority and Eastview National Car Rental.
