More charges could be laid in Sudbury by-election scandal

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli believes we haven’t seen the last of charges over the Sudbury by-election scandal. He says even though the OPP laid criminal charges, Elections Ontario is still investigating bribery allegations made by former Liberal candidate Andrew Olivier involving high-ranking Liberals. Fedeli says if the Election Ontario probe uncovers irregularities, then that could result in more charges.

He says those charges won’t be laid until after OPP investigation. That can take a while, but Fedeli says charges like that can mean two years in jails. Fedeli adds although the OPP are not considering further charges at this time, we could still see more charges in the future if there’s new evidence.
