NDP has plans to kick the Ring of Fire into gear

People are frustrated with the games and the lack of leadership at the Ring of Fire. That’s what federal NDP candidate Charlie Angus is saying about the chromite project. He says a huge potential economic development for the north is stalled out, and the NDP is going to work to get it into gear.

He says they need to start talking at the ground level, and find out what it takes between private industries, the government, and First Nations to get the infrastructure up and the project going. Angus says the party has appointed a special advisor to Tom Mulcair that will work at the ground level to get the chromite project off the ground. He says Howard Hampton was meeting with people on the ground and going into the communities. He says you need that buy-in in the isolated communities near the Ring of Fire so the project can move ahead.

Conservative candidate John Curley, Green Party candidate Max Kennedy, and Liberal candidate Todd Lever all say they have plans to help develop the chromite project.
