Ontario to continue operating northern provincial parks

Ontario is extending its commitment to provincial parks. The province says their agreement to maintain the parks has been renewed until 2019.

Provincial parks in our area include Ivanhoe Lake near Foleyet, Fushimi Lake north of Hearst and Rene Brunelle in Moonbeam. There are over 300 parks across Ontario, which brings in over 8-million visits and $70-million a year. The province says it has no plans to cease operation anytime soon.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Bill Mauro says this commitment will ensure Ontarians have access to the beautiful northeastern parks for many years.

You can book campsites online here, or by calling 1-888-ONT-PARK (668-7275).
