TSO concerts this season are also auditions for a new music director

Music lovers at next Saturday’s Timmins Symphony Orchestra concert are being asked to be part of the selection process for a new music director.

The eight o’clock concert at St. Anthony’s Cathedral is called “The Magic Flute”, featuring local flautist Katie Kirkpatrick.

TSO publicity committee member Sara Wigelsworth says Réjean Campbell of Calgary will be guest conductor.  He’s the first of three candidates. All three will undergo the same live audition.

*Wigelsworth TSO “We just want feedback from the public, based on how they enjoyed the concert, what they thought of the conductor. We’re really looking for a good fit not only for the TSO, but the community as well.”

Josh Wood will be back to conduct the Christmas performance.  Then the next two will be led by the other two candidates.

Tickets for next week are available on the TSO website, Eventbrite and in person at the Timmins Museum.
