A look behind the scenes and history of eight sites in Timmins is available next Saturday, October 5th during Doors Open Timmins.
Assistant museum curator Kaitlyn Dubeau says the museum is a prime example of allowing you to explore an area that’s rarely open to the public, in the collections area.
“You only see about one to five percent of a museum’s collection on display,” she notes. “So, we have about, well, 95% hidden in the back. So, it’s just a nice opportunity to showcase that to the public.”
Dubeau recommends the museum as the first stop on your tour.
“We’re going to have some materials available to give out. So, you’ll be able to start here at the museum, get the tour, kind of get the lowdown of the history of the community and then go out and explore.”
