If your skater or hockey player has outgrown their helmet, don’t throw it away.
This Saturday between noon and 3:00pm, you can drop them off at O’Reilly’s Sports on Algonquin at Hwy. 655 or Canadian Tire on Riverside Dr.
Seizure and Brain Injury Centre executive director Brittany Roberge is part of a coalition dedicated to preventing concussions.
“And then we will be donating them to the Hollinger Skate Path to make sure that not only can you borrow skates, but you can also borrow helmets,” she remarks, “something that hasn’t been done yet before.”
“I know hockey season is kind of ramping up,” Roberge continues, “and as you’re trying on helmets with your kiddos and if it doesn’t fit, please, please save them for us to make sure that we’re preventing these concussions before you go out and buy another helmet.”
There’s a lot more detail in the interview posted below.
