Vertical steel has started going up on the construction site of the new Golden Manor home for the aged, in front of the existing building.
Véronique Cheff is the city’s manager of capital delivery.
“They started erecting the steel on Monday,” she says. “They’re going to start on the north side of the building, then they’ll move into central and then south.”
The north side is along Jubilee Ave.
“In the next few weeks,” Cheff continues, “we should actually see the full building footprint, which is really exciting and it really does give a good perspective on how big the building is actually going to be.”
The new Manor will have three storeys. Move-in is set for June, 2026.
