Suspect in stabbing incident denied bail

A 30-year-old woman is in jail awaiting a court appearance, in connection with a stabbing at a convenience store last Friday night. She was denied bail.

Timmins Police say shortly after nine o’clock, the clerk at the store called 911.  Her family says it was at Lynn’s Variety on Toke Street, and she was stabbed seven times.

The victim told police she confronted the suspect about trying to leave the store without paying for some merchandise, and she pulled a knife.

Police arrested the suspect shortly after that.

CHARGES

  • Robbery with violence contrary to section 343(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Carrying concealed weapon contrary to section 90 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
