That’s it for outdoor skating on city-operated rinks for the season.
Facilities and recreation manager Lyne Grenon says it’s simply not staying cold long enough for a solid ice base to freeze. Instead, the city is offering free public skating indoors at the McIntyre and Whitney Arenas. For information on times, go to https://www.timmins.ca/our_services/recreation_services/skating.
Those outdoor rinks that are now closed are the Hollinger Skate Path, both rinks at Roy Nicholson Park, and the one outside the Mountjoy Arena.
