Kapuskasing native named acting Timmins Police Chief

Timmins is getting a new police chief.

Less than two years after taking on the role, Dan Foy has retired and left the position.

During the transitional period, Kapuskasing native Henry Dacosta moves to the acting chief role, and Inspector Darren Dinel will be acting deputy chief.

The Timmins Police Services Board shared the news over the weekend.

Officials thanked him for his dedication to the community and wished him the best in his retirement.

The board shared the appointments are designed to ensure a seamless transition and maintain the high standards of service that the community expects.
