Cochrane Cross-Country Ski-Club readies for season

Even though we are a few months away, the Cochrane Cross Country Ski Club is gearing up for an exciting winter. President Kathy Hutchinson David says the chalet will be a welcomed addition that will be open on weekends and for special events. She adds that a lot of hard work has been put into the project.

“People volunteering their time and to put it up, build it, get it ready,” she said. So we’ll have it open Saturdays and Sunday and we’ll have events like we have a night walk, snowshoeing different times during the winter.”

Memberships to cross country ski and snowshoeing will be available starting this Saturday Nov. 4. The early bird membership is $105.

“They can ski, they can snowshoe,” she said. On the weekends we will have our chalet open for coffee, cider, hot chocolate tea, bring their own lunch. We won’t be set up this year for lunch, so they can bring their own lunches and heat it up.”
