He can’t say exactly when, but Scott Tam says we’ll soon be driving on Algonquin Boulevard between Birch and Mountjoy Sts. again.
Tam is the city’s director of growth and infrastructure. He says the work on Riverside Dr.will be completed soon. That’s when paving will begin on Algonquin.
“Once they do all the roadwork necessary, paint as they can, we will open it at least to a driveable standard,” Tam remarks. “So that’s the plan anyways. We’re working diligently to get things going.”
As he notes, it looks ready for that.
“Little bit of outstanding items like the traffic lights and all that stuff. I believe there’s a little bit of sidewalk that needs to be poured still, but that’s the intent: to get in there and pave as much as we can.”
From Birch to Cedar St. might have to be wait until spring. Tam reports, however, that it won’t be much, because all of the heavy lifting is over, replacing water and sewer lines under the road.
