Ontario First Nations aren’t waiting for a government inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women

Ontario First Nations are leading the way to make a change for missing and murdered Aboriginal women. Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day launched a campaign in Toronto yesterday to raise money and awareness to implement a provincial wide inquiry. He says the federal government won’t call one, so the First Nations are taking it upon themselves to lead their own.

Part of the campaign is a website, Who is She, with the hashtag #whoisshe on social media. It will feature testimonials, messages from First Nations leaders, and a way to donate online. Day says they are determined to start a national conversation supporting the cause he calls a national crisis.
