OSAP changes will affect college students in Timmins

Northern and Boreal students are going to see some OSAP changes this year. The student loan is no longer counting a car as an asset, meaning students with a vehicle will get more funding. Students can now also decide how much of their loan they want to claim. OSAP is now making it easier to for students to pay back their loan with a base contribution instead of a formula. Those changes will affect how students pay off their costs, and how much money they are allowed to withdraw.

The changes will work with the 30 per cent tuition grant. Ontario reports that it funded over $1-billion to students in the last school year.
