Urban park and farmers market are back

The BIA’s urban park and farmers market are both back this summer, only in a slightly different location.

One of the coordinators, Emma Laiho says because Third Ave. is expected to take some of the traffic detouring around connecting link reconstruction on Algonquin Blvd., it’s moving to Cedar St.

“We’ll be blocking off the full intersection between Second and Third,” she says, “and then about a third of the intersection between Third and Algonquin.”

The urban park runs Wednesday, July 5th until August 23rd from 10:00am until 2:00pm.  Week one is a carnival for kids.

The farmers market runs Thursday 11:00am to 2:00pm until September 28th.

The first day of the urban park features a carnival for kids.

“We’re going to be doing a bunch of carnival games, stuff like that,” Laiho tells us. “But we’ll have attractions form Climbin’ Fun. We’ll have the rideable animals and we’ll have the little gyroscope that you can spin around in.”

There’s still room for vendors for the farmers market. Details from the BIA office or its web platforms.
