Library information event, How to Prepare for Death, deals with practical aspects of it

Dealing with death – either your own impending end of life or that of a loved one who’s already passed on – is difficult, and easy to put off.  An information event next Wednesday afternoon at the Timmins Public Library’s main branch helps you tackle that.

Reference assistant Melissa Morin says in four presentations of up to half-an-hour each, experts will talk about Canada Pension and Old Age Security; the importance of  having a will and power of attorney; dealing with grief; and funeral planning.

“It is an event we’re having for Seniors Month,” Morin points out, “but it is for any adult wanting to be informed on this topic.”

The free event called How to Prepare for Death runs from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.  Pre-registration is asked, says assistant library director Amy Knifton.

“We will welcome drop-ins,” Knifton adds. “So if they were unable to register or get through to us either online through Eventbrite or on the phone, they can still come.
