First Nations and the province have signed a historic deal

First Nations across the province have signed a historic deal with the Premier. The political accord confirms that First Nations have the right to self-govern. It confirms that their relationship with Ontario will be based on respect for that right.

Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day met with Premier Kathleen Wynne on Monday to sign the deal, which was first adopted in June. Attawapiskat and Kashechewan are among the First Nations that will be affected in the Timmins-James Bay riding.
