Plans for Timmins Summer Concert Series in place for summer 2023 at Hollinger Park

Plans are in place for the 2023 version of the Timmins Summer Concert Series, provided City Hall grant a few requests from organizer Peter Lawryniw.

The only one directly costing any money is that the city cover the $1,000.00 cost of a $5-million insurance policy.

Lawryniw says the concerts will be Wednesday nights in Hollinger Park from late June to late August.

“Concert series will notably comprise of five concert dates instead of ten this year,” he outlined to council, “every second Wednesday, with the alternating Wednesday being reserved for postponed events due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.”

That’s because Lawryniw has been unable to secure an alternate, indoor venue.

Neither will Bannerman Park in Porcupine be a venue this year. Lawryniw says the series outgrew Bannerman, andand encountered several issues, including Porta-Potties not being delivered as promised.

“The alternative bathroom for anybody attending the concert that evening was a five-minute drive down the road, to Tim Hortons,” he said during his presentation to council.
