Validus Power not leaving I.F. or Kap

Contrary to a rumour on the streets of Iroquois Falls, Validus Power is not cancelling its plans for a data processing centre in that town or the one in Kapuskasing..

I.F. Mayor Tory Delaurier heard the same rumour, and contacted Validus CEO Todd Shortt.

“He assured me that the projects in Iroquois Falls will go ahead as planned,” the mayor tells My Timmins Now Dot Com. “So our data centre will be going as planned and our splash pad will be going ahead for the summer, too.”

The splash pad is part of a project Shortt promised last summer, to upgrade the Devonshire Playground. The data processing centre is being installed on the Monteith Road.

Shortt confirmed in writing to our newsroom  that the data centre in Kap is also proceeding.

Here’s the story of the announcement of the processing centre in Iroquois Falls ten months ago. https://www.mycochranenow.com/36012/news/cogeneration-plant-owner-brings-50-60-tech-jobs-to-iroquois-falls-within-six-months/
