Fire and police investigators are looking into a Saturday night blaze that damaged the former Timmins Steam Bath at 58 Algonquin Blvd. E.
Deputy Fire Chief Scott Atkinson says when firefighters arrived shortly before 11:00pm, flames were coming out of an unoccupied apartment on the second floor, facing Algonquin. He says the fire was quickly put out from inside and outside… and firefighters remained on the scene until shortly after 1:00am.
The building is now all apartments. One woman in a back unit was evacuated. Atkinson says no one was hurt.
